What is powershares?
PowerShares are exchange-traded funds (ETFs) managed by the investment management firm Invesco Ltd. The PowerShares QQQs, which track the Nasdaq 100 index, were created in 1999.
In 2003, PowerShares introduced its Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF), which was designed to provide investors with tax-efficient investments that were also transparent, flexible, and had a wide range of exposure. On June 4, 2018, all PowerShares ETFs became Invesco ETFs.
ETFs were originally designed to track an index, but PowerShares was part of a new breed of ETFs that outperformed them. "next generation," "intelligent," or "value-added" ETFs are what the business calls its ETFs. The options for investing include actively managed ETFs, dividend-paying stocks, commodities, and fixed-income securities.
