What is hunting the big move?
Most traders make the error of overtrading. They desire to trade as much as possible, believing that doing so will allow them to multiply their account quickly. However, this is a grave error. it is better to wait anaylse the trend very carefully and wait right timing, like opening of london or newyork sessions or wait for the big news release first then for sure market will decide wher to go,just wantch very carefully and when both fundamentals and indicators and the charts l mean your eeys says so :)then this is the time to enter the trade. This is one of the safer options.
Hunting the big move refers to a trading approach focused on capturing large, meaningful price movements rather than small, frequent gains. Traders using this mindset wait patiently for strong setups where market structure, trend direction, and momentum align. Instead of overtrading, they accept long periods of inactivity and concentrate on quality opportunities. Risk management is critical because traders often endure small losses or breakeven trades while waiting for one move that delivers substantial profit. This approach is common in trend following and swing trading, where a single strong move can outweigh multiple minor losses. Psychology plays a major role, as traders must resist the urge to exit early due to fear or short-term volatility. When executed well, hunting the big move encourages discipline, patience, and a focus on long-term consistency rather than constant action.
