Zcoin is a privacy-focused cryptocurrency that prioritizes anonymity and fungibility. Launched in 2016, it employs the Zero-Knowledge Proof protocol, specifically the Zerocoin protocol, to ensure transaction privacy. Unlike traditional cryptocurrencies, Zcoin allows users to burn coins, generating new ones with no transaction history, thereby breaking the link between sender and receiver. This emphasis on privacy makes Zcoin a notable player in the cryptocurrency space, offering enhanced confidentiality and fungibility features. It operates on the idea of providing users with the option to make transactions completely untraceable and unlinkable, fostering privacy in financial transactions on the blockchain.
