What is point & figure chart?
A point & figure chart is a type of financial chart used in technical analysis to visualize changes in price over time. Unlike traditional candlesticks or bar charts, point & figure charts represent price movements using X's and O's on a grid. X's are used to represent upward price movements, while O's represent downward movements. The chart is constructed by plotting each movement as a new column of X's or O's, with each column representing a specific unit of time. Point & figure charts are popular among traders because they help to filter out smaller price movements and focus on the larger trends in the market. This can make it easier for traders to identify key levels of support and resistance and make more informed trading decisions.
