Never trade on emotions
I would like to offer some advice, especially for those who are new to the market. Every time there is a pump in the market, you may be tempted to invest in ALTs. However, after investing, the market falls. When the market goes down, you think that you are losing money, so you sell everything. When the market goes up, you invest. You get hurt again and again. Whenever you have to invest, invest a small portion of your portfolio. This way, even if the market goes down, you still have your portfolio. Never trade based on emotion. Do your calculations before investing.
One of the most important lessons traders need to learn is to avoid trading on emotions. One of the major risks that all traders face is being emotionally tied to their trades. When traders are emotionally tied, they are less likely to make rational decisions about what to do with their trades or how long they hold them for. This can lead to more losses and an increased chance of becoming more financially unstable.
Yes, definitely better avoid it as otherwise you end up being too rash and often distracted, and as a result decisions are most likely going to be wrong ones, and lead to losses. Investing carefully and cautiously after analysing the market trends, and taking into account various factors, and then make sure you are acting rationally not emotionally. Having a plan can help.
